Local lodging tip

If you want to try a stay that combines solid reviews with a real touch of Penang life, consider booking a guesthouse or small boutique hotel in George Town’s heritage zone. You can walk out and immediately be in the middle of street art, local markets, and hawker stalls. Another handy tip: accommodations along Macalister Road often have a quieter evening but still easy access to everything around town. If your trip is during the hotter months between March and July, having air conditioning rated highly by previous guests is a must, so keep an eye out for that in reviews.
